Do you still have to pay for it?
Only second homes, i.e. furnished accommodation that is not used as a main residence, are subject to council tax. This also applies to second homes rented out for short stays during part of the year.
But landlords can avoid paying this tax if they can prove that they do not occupy the property for the rest of the year. A tenant who rents a property as a second home is liable for the tax, whereas he or she is not if the property is occupied as a principal residence.
